Future global health

Medical students all over the world are preparing to attend the International Federation of Medical Students' Associations (IFMSA) general assembly in Hurghada, Egypt, from 1 to 7 August. The medical students' associations of more than 70 countries will be represented. During the meeting, about 600 student delegates will be trained in leadership, project management, and other skills important for their extracurricular work back home. The theme of the meeting is health and the millennium development goals. Workshops before the meeting will educate students on malaria, human rights, and other important health topics. All this is run by students for students. See www.am2005-eg.com/ga.htm.
